PLASTERING

Our motto has always been Preserving the Old tor the New Generation, this is perfectly demonstrated during refurbishment projects when dealing with original plaster finishes.

On original construction of both Victorian and Edwardian properties, we often find that in many areas of the property the original lath and horsehair plaster is in existence and still remains from the house's historical past.

Whether it be a ceiling or wall plaster, this with age deteriorates and becomes brittle. Over the recent years we have found more modern materials that are better suited when updating and modernising these properties. This means we can preserve the Old aesthetic and beauty of the ceilings and walls while retaining as much of it's originality as we can.

Covings, Cornices & Ceiling Roses.

Where these are present in properties that we refurbish we aim to retain these. We can arrange for these to be replicated as was in the original design of the property.

It should be noted that with listed and heritage properties our highly skilled team of specialists aim to restore the original features using original methods such as use of lathes and lime plaster. We create replacement mouldings through professional techniques that preserve original designs and features. KCJ Builders offer results that fit our clients expectations and vision as well as preserving the true art form of specialist plastering in these wonderful classic properties.

We also incorporate plastering and plasterboards for fire protection and sound deadening (sound proofing) between partition walls and ceilings.

All internal and external plastering is completed to a smooth finish in readiness for painting.

On the external fabric of the building we can repair and replicate covings, cornices and stucco finishes.
